![]() ![]() If that fails, I will just start dropping my screen resolution as mitigation. I am trying to get Workstation Server running in the hopes that I can connect to the VM with a tool that scales, if such exists. As VMware supports acceleration I would rather just use it. The guest will act as computer the same as bare metal, you can change the resoloution the same as any other computer in display properties. Pressing 'Ctrl' + 'Alt' + 'Enter' will make the guest full screen and the same command will get you out of full screen. For instance, when the guest is booting and is still in text mode, I cannot read anything on the console, because the text is too small. If so Go to View Tab and select Fit Guest Now. ![]() I feel that I should point out that my issue is really only about how the guest display is rendered on the host. I think, the easiest way will be to invent zoom view, 1x, 2x, 3x, 4x it could be fast to map every. And when it is displayed at high resolution screen like 1024圆00, MS-DOS widows of virtual machine could be very small and there is no way to change size of VMware screen. The described behavior occurs with "use Host Settings for Monitors" on. When you have MS-DOS screen, it is 80x25 characters, it is about 640x400. The Windows VM is supposed to always run in full screen mode on the external monitor with the 1920x1200 resolution. No matter what setting I pick for Display (auto, forced QHD, forced 1920x1080, etc.), I get like a 640x480 display for the installer and I cannot proceed with the installation because the important buttons are offscreen (and I cant just hit Enter either, tried that). I need a solution that works without VMWare tools, as I may run legacy and/or unsupported systems. Im trying to install Odin into a new VMWare VM. Workstation 11 ignores this setting and displays guest windows pixel-per-pixel. I would like to set it lower, but pixel-based windows become unreadable. I have it set to the second highest magnification value. equally to give the effect of a lower resolution display. Windows 8.1 has a feature in the "Display" control panel app, "Change the size of alll items" which has 5 steps (gradations?) and is intended to enlarge all windows, fonts, icons, etc. ![]()
